Two dogs, one very long list
Meet Missy on the left and Muffin on the right. They're our two Pekingese mascots and weekend walking partners. Those walks help us tell the terraces with actual water bowls from the ones that only look welcoming on Google.
dogdoghk is a small, Hong Kong-made directory of restaurants, cafés and weekend spots that welcome dogs. We start with the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) register, label venue statements and community reports separately, and add OpenRice details only where we can confidently match the exact branch.

How community field reports work
Every contributor uses the same review flow: a named profile, visit month, first-hand attestation, practical notes, optional photos, and moderation before publication. Google-facing averages use direct community ratings only. Editorial field reports, FEHD records, OpenRice ratings, and other public sources never enter that average.
Why we keep checking
Hong Kong moves fast. A place can close, change ownership or quietly drop its dog policy between Monday and Saturday. This is how we keep up:
What you can expect from us
- 01Each listing shows its evidence status and last check. Official FEHD records, venue statements, community reports and third-party restaurant details stay visibly separate.
- 02We unify addresses, de-dupe cross-listed branches and pick the right English / Chinese name by hand. Yau Ma Tei and Yau Ma Tei (West) aren't the same place.
- 03We're based in Central, and we walk in Stanley, Sai Kung and Tai O. We look for the details locals know, including Stanley's seaside terraces, Sai Kung's weekend brunch crowd and Sheung Wan's hidden cafés.
- 04Community ratings come from published member submissions. Editorial field reports can add context, but they never count toward the public rating average or Google review markup.
