MegaBox Mega Sky L18 with dogs: hours, access and carrier rule

Dogs can visit the designated L18 outdoor pet area at MegaBox for free. Keep your dog in a stroller or carry bag while crossing the mall and riding its shuttle; the L18 entrance notice marks the area where pets may come out. Mega Sky is a shared garden, not an off-lead dog run.

Getting your dog to L18

MegaBox’s pet guidelines name two exceptions to its stroller-or-bag rule: the L4 Pets Playground and L18 Mega Sky outdoor pet-friendly area. The rest of the mall, including the route to the lifts, remains carrier territory. At L18, follow the entrance notice and keep your dog under control around other visitors. Bring waste bags; the mall requires owners to clean up after their pets.

The free shuttle bus also requires a stroller or carry bag and does not take dogs weighing 20kg or more. For dogs of that size elsewhere in the mall, MegaBox requires a lead no longer than 1.5 metres and recommends a muzzle. Plan another way to Kowloon Bay if you cannot use the shuttle: MTR’s pet pass covers Light Rail, not the regular line to Kowloon Bay. The mall’s customer service number is 2989 3000.

The garden and the best time to visit

Mega Sky covers more than 30,000 square feet, with lawns, planting, paths and seats behind a glass perimeter. There is room to pause and take in the skyline, but no reason to let a dog run loose in this shared space. On hot days, test the path surface before putting paws down and bring water. The open rooftop has limited shelter from sun and weather.

The better dog visit is before the evening shows. You can enjoy the cooler light without asking a noise-sensitive dog to sit through amplified music. If your dog is comfortable with it, the two free shows run from 7:30pm to 9pm nightly, subject to weather and onsite conditions.

The Light-and-Shadow Aquarium projects marine life; the Floral Illusion Show uses flowers. Watch from farther back first if you stay with a dog. A dog that tries to leave has made the decision for you.
