Langham Place

Langham Place gives dog owners a workable way to visit a busy Mong Kok mall, but it is not a place for a loose, spontaneous lunch with a dog beside the table. Its pet-friendly programme is detailed: pets enter in a stroller or carrier; if briefly taken out, they must be held and secured with a safety belt and a leash no longer than 1.5 metres. Only merchants showing the pet-friendly sign admit pets, although the mall says more than 130 merchants display it.

The restaurant rule is the part to plan around. Restaurants and supermarkets do not admit pets, except guide dogs. A carrier makes the journey through common areas possible, but it does not turn the dining floors into pet-access space. If food is the main purpose of the visit, arrange for one person to stay with the dog or choose a separate dog-permitted restaurant nearby. Check the sign at each shop rather than relying on a previous visit.

The mall provides some practical help. L1 and L4 lend strollers, while Petmium on L10 lends carriers, with a refundable HK$500 cash deposit. L4 also has a Pet Waste Station. Use lifts with a pet stroller, not escalators. Pets need a microchip and routine vaccinations, and staff may ask for proof. Each owner may bring up to two pets; dogs classed as fighting or known-dangerous under Cap 167D are excluded.

Parking is relatively clear but changes with the day. It is HK$37 an hour from Monday to Thursday and HK$41 on Friday to Sunday and public holidays. Same-day electronic spending can earn one or two free hours, with thresholds that depend on the day. Receipts must meet the stated minimum and come from no more than two merchants. Langham Place is best approached as a shopping visit with careful pet logistics, rather than as a mall where the dog can accompany every stop.
