A practical guide for dog owners
West Kowloon is generous about where leashed pets may walk, but very specific about where a lead may come off. The double-gated Pet Zone is the only off-leash area. Clip the lead before opening the exit gate and keep it on across the main lawns, M+ approaches and waterfront promenade.
The Pet Zone has a water tap and waste bins, yet busy weekends still reward preparation. Bring a bowl, waste bags and drinking water, pause between the two gates, and watch the play group before entering.
Food and culture require a second check. A pet-friendly public park does not grant access to every café, restaurant, museum or performance venue. Confirm the exact business and seating zone, especially during festivals when barriers and event footprints can change normal paths.

West Kowloon Art Park and the waterfront promenade welcome pets, but the rule changes at the Pet Zone boundary. Outside the double-gated zone, pets must remain on a lead or in a suitable cage or container; inside, they may roam off-leash. WestK confirms pet-waste bins and a water tap in the Pet Zone, while restaurants, museums and performance venues retain their own access rules.
