AFCD responsible pet owner roadshow at Tai Wai: the July 2026 checklist

The 11 July MTR roadshow covered duty of care, rabies vaccination and three-year dog-licence renewal. Use this checklist for the next stop.

AFCD animal-welfare information hub

AFCD brought its Be a Responsible Pet Owner roadshow to the pavement outside Tai Wai MTR Exit D on 11 July 2026, 11:00am–6:00pm. The free stop used games and panels to cover duty of care, rabies vaccination and renewing a dog licence every three years.

Turn the roadshow into a five-minute home audit

Check the expiry date on the dog’s licence and rabies record. Confirm the microchip number and registered keeper details. Inspect the everyday lead, harness and muzzle, where one is legally required, for damage. Save the animal emergency and lost-dog contacts in the phones of everyone who walks the dog.

Responsible control is broader than paperwork. Choose quieter routes for reactive dogs, prevent unwanted greetings, clean up immediately and carry water in hot weather.

Do not assume it is a bring-your-dog fair

The official listing described a public roadshow but did not publish a visitor-dog policy. An MTR-exit pavement can be hot and congested. For another stop, ask AFCD if dogs are welcome and whether any licensing or inoculation service is actually available. An information display is not automatically a clinic.

AFCD replaces dates on its roving exhibition page as the programme moves. Use the latest entry for the exact venue, weather contingency and theme.
