Junior Guide Dog Navigator Camp on 20 September: a parent’s planning guide
The half-day Lau Fau Shan camp is for ages 5–8. Check the dog-language activities, HK$600 fee, transport and people-only rule.

The Junior Guide Dog Navigator Camp is scheduled for Sunday 20 September 2026, 9:30am–1:30pm at Hong Kong Guide Dogs Academy. It is designed for children aged 5–8 and costs HK$600.
The half-day programme covers dog body language, blindfold challenges, safe interaction with guide dogs and basic dog-care tasks. The listing includes round-trip pick-up and drop-off from Tin Shui Wai MTR station.
The decision for parents
Choose it for a child who can listen to animal-handling instructions, work in a group and cope with a four-hour morning away from a parent if the session format requires it. Ask the academy about the adult-accompaniment rule, language, staff-to-child ratio, allergies, accessibility and what the transport handover looks like.
This is not a place to bring your own dog. The people-only rule protects working dogs and gives children controlled interactions.
What to pack and confirm
Use a labelled water bottle, simple weather-appropriate clothing and any item named in the confirmation email. Do not promise a child that every task includes touching a dog; safe programmes let the handler and animal set the pace.
Book through the Academy’s current experience page. Confirm the place, payment, Tin Shui Wai meeting point, cancellation policy and severe-weather arrangement before 20 September. If no confirmation QR code arrives, contact the organiser rather than assuming the registration worked.
