Little Q's Summer Treasure Hunt: should your child join the Guide Dogs Academy day?

Plan the 23 August Lau Fau Shan puzzle experience: two sessions, HK$200 tickets, age fit, transport, and why your own dog stays home.

DogDogHK mascots planning a Hong Kong outing

Little Q’s Summer Treasure Hunt takes over Hong Kong Guide Dogs Academy on Sunday 23 August 2026. Families choose 11:00am–1:30pm or 2:30pm–5:00pm, solve clues around the restored Former Lau Fau Shan Police Station and learn how guide dogs work along the way.

Tickets are HK$200 per person, adult or child. Capacity is listed as 70, advance online registration is required, and successful visitors show a confirmation QR code on arrival.

Who will enjoy it

It suits children who like clue trails and can follow staff instructions through a two-and-a-half-hour visit. The organiser lists ages 1–10, but adults should judge attention span, heat tolerance and whether a younger child can move through a group without needing a quiet nap space.

This is people only. Do not bring a family dog: the academy controls its animal interactions and the puzzle route is not a pet social.

Before leaving home

Allow time for Lau Fau Shan transport and arrive 15 minutes early. Bring water, sun protection and the booking QR code. Ask the academy about step-free access, language, typhoon or rain arrangements, and whether guide or therapy dogs appear in this specific session.

The current details are on the Hong Kong Guide Dogs Academy experience page. Places are first come, first served; if the listing disappears or registration closes, do not travel hoping for a walk-in place.
