SPCA Pupsgiving Pawty 2026: the useful lessons for the next pet-friendly weekend
A recap of SPCA's 28–29 March Tsing Yi weekend: market, rooftop dog access, health checks, and the paperwork owners should prepare.

The SPCA Pupsgiving Pawty filled the Tsing Yi centre on 28–29 March 2026, 11:30am–5:30pm. The programme combined a pet-friendly market, rooftop activities, workshops and short sponsored dog health checks.
The event is over, but it shows what owners should look for when SPCA announces another centre-wide pet weekend.
The important boundary: event areas versus adoption areas
“Pets welcome” never means every room is open. SPCA protects animals awaiting adoption by separating them from visiting pets. At similar centre events, follow the floor plan and staff directions; do not try to turn an adoption visit into a dog meet-and-greet.
Rooftop access also comes with control rules. A lead, microchip, valid rabies vaccination and vaccination record may be required. Bring the original or a clear digital record rather than relying on memory.
Decide whether the crowd suits your dog
Markets create narrow passes, food smells and sudden greetings. Go early if your dog needs space. Skip the peak if your dog guards food, reacts on lead, or struggles when unfamiliar dogs approach head-on. A ten-minute health check is useful only if the dog can be handled calmly.
Pack water, a bowl, high-value treats, waste bags and a towel for the rooftop. Give your dog a quiet exit route before browsing stalls.
Watch the organiser, not an old poster
The archived Pupsgiving Pawty page documents the 2026 format. New event dates, registration, rooftop access and vaccination conditions belong on the current SPCA events page. Recheck both on the morning of a future visit.
