SPCA Tsing Yi education tour: a 2026 recap for first-time visitors

What the 22 February education-theme tour was for, who should visit the Tsing Yi centre next, and why dog admission must be checked separately.

SPCA Hong Kong listed an education-theme weekend tour on 22 February 2026 at its Jockey Club Centennial Centre in Tsing Yi. The date has passed, but the format is useful: SPCA runs themed tours that let the public see the centre before they need an adoption appointment, vet visit or emergency service.

Who gets the most from a centre tour

This is a good first step for a family discussing adoption or fostering. Visit before choosing an animal and use the tour to understand how the centre separates care, adoption, veterinary work and education. Children also get a more grounded view of animal welfare than they would from a pet-shop visit.

It is not an adoption shortcut. A tour does not guarantee access to every animal area, and meeting an animal does not skip SPCA’s application and matching process.

Check before bringing your own dog

The tour listing did not turn every centre area into an open dog outing. Resident and adoptable animals need controlled spaces. For future themed tours, ask SPCA whether visitor dogs are admitted, which floors they may enter, and whether vaccination records, a carrier or a muzzle are required.

If the answer is “people only,” leave your dog at home. That is an animal-welfare rule, not a sign that the centre is unfriendly to dogs.

Before the next tour

Watch the SPCA events hub and the organiser’s archived education-tour page for the format. Confirm the start time, registration, age limits, photography rules and dog admission directly before travelling to 38 Cheung Fai Road.
